Meet the “S” Family – {New Bern Family Photographer}

“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.” ~ Desmond Tutu

The “S” family – complete with a high school senior and a soon-to-be kindergartener – met me at Creekside Park for a New Bern family photography session. This location oozes rustic, woodsy and natural, just what mom was looking for as a backdrop for this fabulous session! Really, I mean, how awesome is this family!

This little girl just kept me laughing throughout the entire session. She has so much personality and spunk! She is also a pro already in front of a camera. How cute is she?

Her older sister is also a natural in front of the camera. These two sisters made my job easy on this day. And they are just so beautiful together!

Mason – 7 days new {Greenville Newborn Photographer}

So as I was photographing adorable little Zoe’s newborn photo session at her home in Stantonsburg, her cousin had just been welcomed into the world at the hospital! So one week later, and just a few doors down from Zoe’s home, I arrived to photograph her cousin, Mason. This charming, little boy was one week old and what a sleeper! Check out this cutie.

Zoe – 11 days new {Greenville Newborn Photographer}

Mom warned me this little girl liked to stay awake in the mornings (we had a morning session). Mom warned me this little girl’s sleeping patterns and length of sleep were changing. Mom warned me she was worried this little girl wasn’t going to sleep for the session. Mom warned me… but I took on the challenge. And let me tell you, little Zoe was certainly up to the challenge. She kept those beautiful eyes wide open, like she was worried she was going to miss something in this new world!

Katey – 16 days new {Greenville Newborn Photographer}

Meet Katey, a wee little girl who certainly tried her best to avoid sleeping through her newborn session. Parents sometimes ask me what will happen if their newborn won’t sleep during a session, but I haven’t yet met a baby who couldn’t be calmed enough to sleep through at least part of their session. It just takes a little extra patience. At 16 days old, Katey was a little older than my average newborn client, and her restlessness during her session is normal for a newborn her age. It’s amazing how quickly their sleep patterns start changing in that 7-10 day range and after. But as you will see, mom and I were able to calm Katey just enough that she nodded off and I captured some beautiful images.

While the goal is to have a baby sleep as much as possible in a session, it is always nice to get a few open-eye pictures!

Asher ~ 10 days new {Winterville Newborn Photographer}

Little Asher arrived just in time to make his family’s Christmas this year extra special… and don’t you just love his name?!?! His family, including his big brother, welcomed me into their home for this Winterville newborn photography session. And it’s only appropriate Asher showed off his best Santa impression while I was there! 🙂

Asher’s new big brother is quite in love with his new sibling, and while he was not so in love with posing for some sibling photos, we were able to get one or two.
